Bio

I'm Julia, a senior at Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications earning a degree in public relations. I am also in the Falk School of Sports and Human Dynamics, minoring in nutrition.

About Me

I love being outdoors, traveling, being with friends, eating good food, and anything having to do with animals! In the summer I live in LBI where I am a surf instructor and work as a first mate on a boat. I spent the Spring 2023 semester studying abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark which was my favorite place out of the 13 countries I visited!

Why Nutrition?

During my sophomore year of high school, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease, a genetic autoimmune disease. Following my diagnosis I went through a two year period of seeing naturopathic doctors and trying various diet and lifestyle alterations and natural treatments.

Treating my condition without pharmaceuticals taught me so much about the connection between our heath and food choices. This sparked my interest in nutrition and directed me towards a career doing PR and marketing for businesses involved in nutrition and natural health.
